A Day in Banff – Lakes, waterfalls and Gondola

Banff Gondola

Banff Gondola takes you to the top of Sulphur Mountain. You get amazing views of Bow River, Banff Valley and SYou can also hike up to the top of the Sulphur Mountain. But hike is more of a workout than any scenic views. Unless you are going in the morning, taking the gondola is recommended.

Entrance fee: 40-50 USD per person

Reserve the tickets beforehand so you don’t need to worry about parking lot being full or so.

Fairmont Banff Springs

Luxurious hotel where many celebrities stay when they visit Banff.

No need to go to the hotel. Just go to the view point and you can get a good view of the hotel.

Lake Minnewanka

Lake Minnewanka is a large glacier lake, near to the town of Banff and part of Banff National Park. It is a popular spot for cruise ride, picnicking, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, mountain biking and diving. It is also a great location for enjoying sunset.

Johnston Canyon Falls

  • Easy to Moderate hike of 3.2 miles round trip, 859ft elevation gain to reach upper waterfalls.
  • Lower falls is at halfway distance (0.5 miles from trail head).
  • Upper falls is 1.6 miles from trail head.
