Nuayaca Waterfalls Hike

  • Entrance fees: $10 per person and $4 for parking.
  • Pay entrance fees at the office on the side of the road. They will give you instructions to reach the trail head. It’s a 2 km drive further down. 
  • Hike details: 
  • 5 miles total in and out with 700 ft elevation gain.  
  • Difficulty: Moderate
  • Can you swim in water? – Yes
  • Shade: 75% shaded
  • Can you see waterfalls without hiking?
    • Yes – There is horse back ride to reach waterfalls. There is also an option to hire a jeep on your return path. These things can be availed at the office.

Eco Termales Hot Springs

  • This is like a secret hot spring, hidden in the forests. Need to drive 7 km through unpaved road to reach here.
  • Entrance fee: $5 per person (They may charge higher, but you can do some bargaining). Its basically public hot springs managed by some locals.
Drive back to San Jose– 3-4 hours depending on traffic.
